On November 22, 2002 Funhog placed the Heart Like an Awl letterbox in Coeur
d'Alene, Kootenai County, Idaho. The Schee-Shu-Umsh Indians who lived in
this area were know for their sharp trading practices. Early Iroquois
guides gave them the French name, Coeur d'Alene, heart like an awl.

To the trailhead: From downtown Coeur d'Alene, go to the lakeside parking
lot at the foot of 3rd Street. At the far end of the lot, Smokey Bear and a
pair of maps beckon.

To the letterbox:
Tramp a trail to tip top o' Tubbs.
Seek cement, stand astride a set o' sunken cylinders.
Tree o' tiny tangled trunks towards 110
By it's branching base, beside boulder, buried beneath basalt, box behold.
